Limerick SongWriters @ Foley's Bar, Limerick
Thursday 2nd JUNE 2011 9.00pm
Special Guest this week is Seamus Fogarty.
'Songwriter and musician Seamus Fogarty describes his music as a "mongrel breed of folk, country and blues". Over the years, Fogarty has played with people like John Martyn, Mark Eitzel of American Music Club, James Yorkston and many artists off the illustrious Scottish micro-indie record label Fence Records.
He has produced a number of EPs over the last two years to coincide with various festival appearances in Scotland and England and an album featuring a host of amazing musicians from Ireland and the UK is forthcoming. On hearing one of his EPs Jo Goode of BBC 6 music was led to comment on air that it was 'absolutely lovely'. However when said EP was posted to her, she never played it - this may or may not be because the CD was wrapped in a brown paper bag.'
As Usual all aspiring songwriters are invited to attend and play there songs in front of a live audience. All types of music and singers are welcome, a limited amount of instruments will be available for use on the night.
