Limerick SongWriters @ Foley's Bar
Thursday 24th March 2011 9.00pm

The SongWriterSessions continues upstairs at Foley's Bar, Sarsfield Street, Limerick 9.00pm March 24th

Special Guests this week is Eric McGrath.

Eric McGrath
was born in Dublin, Ireland, to a Spanish mother and an Irish father, Eric
was exposed to a wide variety of musical influences when growing up;
Antonio Carlos Jobim, Hoagy Carmichael, The Mills Brothers and Ella
Fitzgerald were but a few of the artists regularly heard on the sound
system at home.
After completing an honours degree in Chemistry at University College
Dublin, Eric finally succumbed to his true calling by obtaining a
Masters in Music from Trinity College Dublin.
With poignant lyrics and enticing melodies, a strong sense of
musicianship is immediately apparent. And if that wasn’t enough, every
instrument heard on these recordings (except for drums) is played by
Eric.
Eric was recently a guest on the Pat Kenny show on RTE Radio 1. A wider audience awaits.

As Usual all aspiring songwriters are invited to attend and play there songs in front of a live audience. All types of music and singers are welcome, a limited amount of instruments will be available for use on the night.
The evening will features songwriters doing short sets of two or three songs. There will also be an opportunity for getting a YouTube video of your performance made free of charge and uploaded to our site. Performances will also be recorded and and available to download later. Host for the sessions are songwriters Brian Connolly, Chris Wood and Sean MacLeod. SongWriter Sessions@Foleys takes place every Thursday of the month.
