Limerick SongWriters @ Foley's Bar
Thursday 24th Feb 2011 9.00pm
The SongWriterSessions@TheLockeBar, continues upstairs at Foley's Bar, Sarsfield Street, Limerick 9.00pm Feb 24th.
Special Guests this week is Tom Whyte.
Hailing from Tipperary, Tom Whyte is one of the rare breeds in music today: a true poet and troubadour of the highest calibre, for whom the lyrics and the story matter. Tom’s music blends Dylan-esque songwriting with Christy Moore-like Irish traditional world music and stories told like many of the great Irish poets, with a wit and realism that few writers nowadays can aspire to. He has recently played support to the Dirty Epics, the Resistance and Novastone. Tom has also recently finished recording his debut album Sets in Motion, which was mixed in Peter Gabriel’s famous RealWorld Studios and is now ready for public release. The first single That's the Way (As the Fella Says) is due for release end Nov 2009. Watch This Space.
As Usual all aspiring songwriters are invited to attend and play there songs in front of a live audience. All types of music and singers are welcome, a limited amount of instruments will be available for use on the night.
