Limerick Songwriters@Foley's Bar Thurs 3rd Feb 2011

The Limerick SongWriter Sessions continues upstairs at Foleys Bar, Sarsfield Street, Limerick 9.00pm Feb 3rd.

This weeks special guest is singer songwriter Cillian McHugh.

Cilian McHugh
was born in Sweden and is currently living in Miltown Malbay. Music has always been a part of his life and he is an accomplished player of the accordian, guitar and harmonica. He has played many public performances and recently played support for Johnny Fean (of Horslips) in Shannon.
Is currently doing the BEd and Psychology course in Mary I and is vice chairperson of the Live Music Society, which this year has taken off in a big way with a weekly singsong/Jam session in O'Dwyers bar on Wolfe Tone St. Curently recording a 13 song CD for release later this year. Influences include Neil Young, Eric Bibb, Pink Floyd, Yes, Rush.


As usual all aspiring songwriters are invited to attend and play there songs in front of a live audience. All types of music and singers are welcome, a limited amount of instruments will be available for use on the night.
There will also be an opportunity for getting a YouTube video of your performance made free of charge and uploaded to our site. Performances will also be recorded and broadcast as a Podcast at a later date. Host for the sessions are songwriters Brian Connolly, Chris Wood and Sean Macleod. As the venue develops into a hot spot for new talent in Limerick, plans are a foot to invite recording artists, producers, managers and publishers, anyone who may be looking for fresh new songs. SongWriter Sessions@FoleysBar is a regular feature of the live music scene in Limerick and takes place every Thursday of the month.

Lou Mcmahon is a singer/songwriter from Co. Clare. Writing and performing music has always been a natural reflex in Lou to life twists and turns. Signed to Howling Management her powerful singing voice and quirky lyrics have attracted the attention of Mr. Terry Woods with whom Lou is Developing her art. Lou has shared the stage with many respected and wonderful artists ie: Mundy, Jackl, Freddie White, David Hope and Mary Coughlan.
