SongWriter Sessions @ The Locke Bar
Thursday 13th May 2010 9.00pm


The SongWriterSessions@TheLockeBar, continues upstairs at The Locke Bar, George’s Quay, Limerick 9.00pm May 13th.

This weeks special guest is singer songwriter Peter Delaney.

Peter Delaney
comes from a folk music background and plays his own unique style, drawing on early Hawaiian folk songs and Alan Lomax field recordings as well as more contemporary musicians such as Joanna Newsom and Josephine Foster. Peter released his debut EP/Mini Album "Duck Egg Blue" in April 2007 and is currently working on a new album.
In November 2008 Peter joined Oscar winners The Sell Season as support act on the Irish leg of their European tour and has played alongside many popular folk musicians including A Hawk and a Hacksaw (USA), Phosphourecent (USA), Alela Diane (USA), Alasdair Roberts (Scotland), Juana Molina (Argentina), Sharon Krauss (UK), Thinguma*jigSaw (Norway) and Jozef van Wissem (Netherlands).

As Usual all aspiring songwriters are invited to attend and play there songs in front of a live audience. All types of music and singers are welcome, a limited amount of instruments will be available for use on the night.

The evening will features songwriters doing short sets of two or three songs. There will also be an opportunity for getting a YouTube video of your performance made free of charge and uploaded to our site. Performances will also be recorded and and available to download later. Host for the sessions are songwriters Brian Connolly, Chris Wood and Sean MacLeod. SongWriter Sessions@The Locke Bar takes place every 2nd, 3rd and 4th Thursday of the month.
